Blum, Texas
Weather: low 37 degrees, high 45 degrees, cloudy, rainy most of the day
Snow flurries were in the forecast for this area, but didn't quite get to us. According to the radar, the snow got to within about ten miles of where we're parked. It rained all night and up until after noontime, when the clouds cleared up. Tonight should have the lowest temperatures of the season for us. If a big, bright moon is an indication, we should be in the 20s because the moon is so bright that we can almost read by it's light.
Even though it was cold and rainy outside, we decided to get out and about again. There was a blood drive going on in Glen Rose, so we went there so I could make a deposit in the blood bank. On the way into Glen Rose, we passed several exotic game ranches. How can we tell? The fences are at least six feet tall, and we saw several types of animals that aren't native to this area.
Since we hadn't gotten a WalMart Mall fix for about a week, we decided to drive over to Cleburne to the local Mall. We picked up the few things we needed from there, which didn't take long.
The RV park is located on Texas 174, and we knew that the road went through Cleburne. Driving into the center of town, we found the road we wanted and headed south toward home. We hadn't been on this part of the highway, so everything we saw up to Blum was new country for us.
When we got home, the temperature was down to 57 degrees in the RV. We turned the furnace and two electric heaters on, and ten minutes later the RV was nice and warm. We can tell that this RV has better insulation than the old one did. At night, we leave the electric heaters on, with the furnace turned down. So far, we have been comfortable with just the bedspread on the bed for cover. If needed, we have an electric blanket that we can use.
The rest of the day was spent reading, surfing the net, watching a little television, etc.
Carolyn has two medical tests scheduled for tomorrow, so we'll see what else we can find to do then.
More later, be safe.
