Moved To Victoria

Victoria, Texas

Weather: low 77 degrees in Rockport, high 86 degrees in Victoria, partly to mostly cloudy skies, winds 20 to 30 mph

The wind was blowing hard when we left Rockport this morning. The good thing about the wind was that it was blowing mostly from the south, and we were going to the north. This was one of the few times that we've traveled with the wind helping to blow us along, instead of blowing against us.

When we left Rockport, we drove west for about 25 miles to Sinton, where we turned to the north on US 77. Then we traveled at an easy pace for about 60 miles to Victoria and the Lazy Longhorn RV Park. We expect to be here at least four days, and may stay for a week. There seems to be plenty to see and do here, so I'm sure we'll be able to stay busy. One thing I need to do is clean up the outside of the RV and truck so I can get the salt residue off them. We enjoyed Rockport, but a negative is the salt air, which leaves a residue on vehicles.

Here's some leftover pictures from the Rockport area. These blooms were on an oleander bush at the RV park we were staying in.

The boat harbor in Rockport has a small garden with some sculptures that represent important things for the area. This one is of dolphins, and although it's hard to get an idea of the size, I liked it.

This next sculpture is of some of the most identifiable winter Texans. Unfortunately, I couldn't get a better picture because of the clouds. Anyway, the Whooping Cranes have protected status, and many people come to this area to see them.

Tomorrow, we'll share pictures of what we see here in Victoria.

More later, be safe.
