Visit Two Sisters

Coker, Alabama

Weather: low 72 degrees, high 94 degrees, mostly clear skies

We drove up to Athens today to see my two sisters Judy and Janie and their husbands, as well as Judy's daughter Traci (our niece). The trip up was uneventful, and traffic was lighter than we expected. It has been awhile since we went up there, and it was good to get away, if only for a day. And it is always good to see family.

When we drove up to Judy's house, I had to look twice to make sure we were at the right place. They have done some remodeling on the house, including the outside, and the results were very nice. After hugs and handshaking and getting reacquainted, we all sat down and had lunch. It was a fun time, with everyone having a good time and getting caught up on what has been going on. Janie had pictures that she shared of her grandkids and her daughter Heather.

After lunch, we visited more and talked about everyone's plans. Roger is retiring (finally) in about a month, and looking forward to some well-earned rest and fishing. Janie and Wayne are excited about their upcoming trip to the Smokies in the fall, and a little sad because their daughter and the grandkids are moving to Hawaii.

After a great visit, we went outside and took pictures (we can't visit family and not take pictures, can we?). Fortunately, none of the cameras were damaged by what they were exposed to.

We're back in Coker and a little tired, but we're glad we were able to see everyone. It's too bad this modern society puts family members so far apart.

More later, be safe.
