More Vertigo

Ocala, Florida

Weather: low 63 degrees, high 85 degrees, clear skies

When Carolyn got up this morning, she felt better than yesterday, and was hopeful that this was going to be a good day for her. We talked about what we wanted to do, such as go to the mall, and eat lunch at a new restaurant. About 30 minutes later, Carolyn's vertigo reared it's ugly head, and that stopped our plans. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day.

I got out for a little while this afternoon, as I went in search of yard sales so I could possibly find some used puzzles for Carolyn's mother, Doris. Remember that I said she liked to put puzzles together and work on needlework? That was the point of looking for puzzles.

We have noticed all kinds of yard sales in the area since we've been here, so I thought it would be fairly easy to find several to check out. After about 30 minutes of driving, I had only found one yard sale. They had a lot of stuff (junk?), but no puzzles. Maybe Carolyn will feel like going with me tomorrow.

By supper time, Carolyn felt well enough to prepare a chicken and pasta dish that was new for us. She did a great job on it, and we talked about what could be done to improve it. We will probably have it again soon, like leftovers for tomorrow.

After supper, we happened to find a movie on television directed by Clint Eastwood, "Letters From Iwo Jima", a movie about the battle for Iwo Jima in World War II, but from the Japanese point of view. Both of us agreed that it was a good movie, and Eastwood did a great job on it.

Has anyone noticed how politically correct this country has become? It has gotten to the point that telling the truth about someone will get you fired. Witness the story that came up about Rick Sanchez, a newscaster on CNN, who was fired by the network for saying that Jon Stewart was a bigot. Look at all the lies that were told about President Bush, and as far as I know, no one lost their job. I guess it all comes down to which person is being talked about that decides whether it's bigotry or not. I think CNN is selective in their outrage.

Enough of that rant.

More later, be safe.
