Cold Walk

Bay City, Texas

Weather: low 38 degrees, high 52 degrees, cloudy skies, winds 15-20 mph

It was another cold morning in the campground, especially with the wind blowing as hard as it was. My morning walk was taken just after daylight, and it was much more unpleasant than yesterday's walk, when I walked about noon. It looks like we will have more of the same tomorrow.

Carolyn's back problems continue to show slow improvement to the point that we were able to go eat lunch with my brother Terrell and his wife Kathy. It was a nice get together, and Terrell and I decided we would try to play golf if the weather warms up enough before we leave here next Wednesday. We couldn't visit with Terrell and Kathy as long as we wanted because we needed to get Carolyn back on the heating pad. We'll see them again later on.

We came home from lunch and Carolyn started using the heating pad again while I performed some meditation. About 1700 hours, we went over to Lori's house and visited with her and her family. A discussion on what to do about supper led us to the China Station, a Chinese restaurant. I had the sesame chicken and Carolyn had the chicken wings. Good food, and we had enough left for lunch. While we were at the restaurant, I saw a friend I worked with before retiring. She is now working as a teacher, and is Zoe's computer teacher. It was nice catching up with what has been happening with her.

Once supper was over, I brought Carolyn home so she could get back on the heating pad. Her back is getting better, and we don't want to do anything that will cause her to hurt it again. We'll see Lori and her family again tomorrow, and I'll be watching Florida and Alabama playing in the Southeastern Conference football championship game. It should be a great game, with one team possessing great speed and finesse, and the other having an old fashioned ground pounding offense. Both teams have very good defenses.

More later, be safe.
