Yes!!!

Coker, Alabama

Weather: low 35 degrees, high 53 degrees, clear skies

Three clear days in a row!! Yes!!!

When I've been taking my morning walks lately, I've been noticing that very few people are walking. Could it be because of the colder weather? To me, this is the best time of year to be outside. No bugs, no sweating, cool (or maybe cold) breezes. It's invigorating. Breakfast sure tastes good after these walks.

After the morning walk and breakfast, we decided to continue going through the cabinets in the living room. By the time we stopped, we had finished that task, getting rid of some stuff we no longer needed. After meditation, we cleaned up our address book.

This is the last day of 2008. It's been a crazy year, with a stock market meltdown, a new president being elected, record high gas prices with a subsequent fall of gas prices to levels not seen in years, natural disasters, political scandals, and on and on......

For us, 2008 did not go the way we planned it. We had planned to go to Alaska, but circumstances beyond our control prevented that. Our daughter and grandson needed our help, and we felt that was more important than a trip to Alaska. Fortunately, our daughter doesn't need our help now, but we are undecided about whether we will go to Alaska in 2009. At this time, our instincts are telling us to play everything low key for awhile to see how everything works out. Don't be surprised if we are in the Northwest, headed to Oregon, and suddenly take a right turn. Then again, don't be surprised if we stay in the eastern part of the country. That's the good thing about this lifestyle. We can change our plans at a minute's notice.

I'll close for now so I can relax before 2009 gets here. Here's hoping the new year is better for everyone than the old one has been.

More later, be safe.
