Settling In For The Holidays

Coker, Alabama

Weather: low 25 degrees, high 52 degrees, heavy frost in the morning, cloudy skies

For some reason, we were up early this morning, even though we were still tired because of the trip from Texas. Our sleep habits are off a little, but I am going to make a concerted effort to get mine back in line.

We spent part of the morning going through our mail, which we had not received for three weeks. Luckily, no overdue bills. Of course, we didn't really expect any, since most of our recurring obligations are paid via electronic transfer. Tomorrow, we'll make a late start on getting Christmas cards in the mail.

I put up the satellite dish so Carolyn can watch her programs. We can watch TV with our onboard antenna, but the variety of viewing is much less than with the satellite dish. In addition, the quality of picture with the dish is much better.

About noontime, I went out to Terri's house and got some boiled peanuts and turnip greens out of the freezer. Tonight, we had turnip greens, potato salad, and chicken for supper. The turnip greens were the best we have ever had. Thanks, Ruth and Marsha for allowing us to pick them out of your garden.

After lunch, I went to the library in Tuscaloosa and picked us up some books to read. When I got back to the RV, it was time for some meditation, which we have not had time for in several days. The rest of the day was spent taking it easy and resting up. I don't know what we will do tomorrow beyond the Christmas cards, but I'm sure we'll stay busy. Who knows, maybe we will find Greenbow, Alabama next week.

More later, be safe.
