Snow In Bay City

Bay City, Texas

Weather: low 34 degrees, high 38 degrees, rain, sleet, snow, winds 20-30 mph

Morning broke with cold temperatures, rain, and high winds. With the weather so bad, we decided to stay here another day. The forecast for tomorrow looks like it will be cold in the morning with clear skies. There will be some wind, but it should be better than today.

About 1530 hours, sleet started falling, with snow not far behind. I estimate about an inch of snow fell over the course of about three hours. At this time (2000 hours) it continues to snow, but lighter than before. Getting any snow at all in this area is a big event for the kids. On Christmas Eve of 2004, we received about 14 inches here, which was a record for the area.

We made some minor preps for leaving tomorrow, including washing another load of clothes. After a short trip to the WalMart Mall, we returned to the RV for the daily meditation session. At 1530 hours, I picked up Zoe from school and took her home. At 1730 hours, we went back to Lori's house to say goodbye again, and we decided to go out and eat with them one last time before leaving. We had a great visit to Bay City, and look forward to seeing everyone again soon.

More later, be safe.
