Broke Computer

Bay City, Texas

Weather: low 44 degrees, high 58 degrees, clear skies, light breezes

Today was one of the nicest days of weather we have had since being in Bay City this time. The morning walk was almost perfect, and by the time I returned home, I was starting to remove layers of clothes. Later in the day, we were able to open the front door for a short time.

I had some mail to take to the post office which needed extra postage. After taking care of that little chore, where the counter attendant tried to sell me services I didn't need or want, I went over to HEB to pick up a couple of items. Then it was on to Dollar General to buy some clothes detergent and softener. Then one more stop at the drugstore to buy some first aid tape to dress the areas on Carolyn's leg where she had biopsies taken of the nodules on her legs. The areas are getting much better, but we will have to protect the affected areas for a few more days.

Lori and her family came over for a couple of hours, and we had a good visit with them. They left about 1430 hours, and I watched the Southeastern Conference football championship game between Florida and Alabama. It was a well played game by both teams, with Florida pulling out a win in the fourth quarter, 31 to 20.

As I write this post to the blog, I am using Lori's family computer. Our computer is giving us problems again, failing to start up properly. The start up process will only go so far, then stop. I have done everything I know to fix the problem, but have been unsuccessful. This is the third time this issue has arisen in the last 18 months, and it looks like it may be time to go buy another computer. I will make every attempt to find a place to post the blog until we make other arrangements, including going to the library if I have to. I had been making plans to buy another computer so we could use the old one as a backup, and it looks like I took too much time to decide what to get. Lori and her family are trying to convince me that I should buy an Apple, and get away from the Windows based computers we have been using.

More later, be safe.

The trip back to Tuscaloosa will be much more enjoyable with the SEC championship Florida win behind you. You may not hear any football talk from the Alabama fans anymore this year. I expect the margin of victory would have been much more if it weren't for some key Florida injuries. How about that Tebow dude? Good luck against Oklahoma, we will be rooting for our SEC bretheren.

War Eagle anyway,
